We came to Hotel 7 straight off the most intense week of the trip, and week two in Taichung felt like exhaling. It isn't a luxury property and it doesn't try to be. What it has instead is genuinely thoughtful, reliable hospitality, the sort that quietly makes everything easier when you're traveling with a baby and a toddler. Here's the room-by-room version.
The laundry that changed the trip
The highlight, genuinely, was the laundry. Hotel 7 offers complimentary laundry service for guests. When you're traveling for two weeks with a baby and a toddler (a demographic that produces more laundry than you can imagine), having someone else handle it, for free, is not a small thing. You hand off a bag and it comes back clean. It changed the trip.
"It became one of my favorite family stays in recent memory. Not because it was fancy, but because the service was thoughtful."

Service that actually shows up
The service throughout was excellent in a specific, reliable way. Our nightlight was broken: it couldn't be turned off, which is a real problem when you're trying to get two young children to sleep. I reported it, and by the next day it was fixed. No drama, no back-and-forth. Just done. That's what good hospitality actually looks like.
The loft rooms
The rooms are loft-style, with the sleeping area on a second level. It's a fun concept: our kids thought the staircase was an adventure. Fair warning, though: the stairs were steep and had significant gaps between the steps, which I noticed immediately as a parent of small children. It was fine, but it required attention. If you stay here with very mobile toddlers, just be aware.
Traveling with kids
They provided a crib and a children's bathtub without issue. The room had a bidet and an electric kettle, useful for making formula at all hours. Breakfast was good, with high chairs available. Complimentary parking was offered on request, which was useful since we had a rental car in Taichung.
One complaint: the refrigerator was tiny and old, barely enough room for bottles. If cold storage matters to you (and with a baby it usually does), bring a small cooler bag.
The location
The hotel is walkable to a park with a proper playground and to 逢甲夜市, Fengjia Night Market, which is exactly as lively and delicious as it should be. For a family base in Taichung, being able to walk the kids to a playground by day and the night market by evening is a real plus. Several major medical centers are also within about a 15-minute drive.
The loft staircase is steep, with significant gaps between the steps. Our toddler loved it, but it needs supervision. If you're traveling with very mobile little ones, factor this in, and consider requesting a layout that works for your family when you book.
So, is Hotel 7 worth it?
For a family, yes, wholeheartedly. The free laundry and parking, the good breakfast, the kids' gear on request, and above all the responsive, effortless service add up to a stay that does the unglamorous things really well. Pair it with a rental car and a walk to Fengjia Night Market and it's a genuinely easy Taichung base. Just mind the loft stairs and pack a cooler bag for the small fridge.
